Dr. Lisa K. Brown, the founder of Perfected Papers, gives Black doctoral students the skills and resources they need to help them write successful doctoral dissertations. The company assists doctoral students at all stages of the dissertation process, offering them guidance during what can be the most stress-inducing part of their doctoral program.

A dissertation is a research project that is “a culmination of everything a student has learned, from theories to application, in a particular program” (Research.com). The process of writing one is often lengthy and requires doctoral candidates to put their best efforts into creating a high-quality and well-written piece that proves that they’re ready to don “Dr.” in front of their names.

This month, from November 4th to November 6th, 2022, Dr. Brown will host a Dissertation Writer’s Retreat. During this retreat, students will have the opportunity to receive a “professional dissertation editing, coaching, and mental wellness program” (BlackNews.com). The retreat will be held at the Poconos at Camelback Resort, with workshops, coaching sessions, a panel, and wellness events offered throughout the two days.
